The Department of Agriculture, Fisheries and Forestry (DAFF) has released updated Biosecurity Awareness Training requirements for workers operating at Australia’s international seaports and airports. The training applies to personnel involved with international vessels, aircraft, cargo handling, and port operations and is designed to strengthen frontline biosecurity awareness.
Completion of the updated training is mandatory to ensure compliance with Australia’s biosecurity risk management framework under the Biosecurity Act 2015. DAFF has advised that failure to comply may result in enforcement action or restrictions on port operations, reinforcing the importance of ongoing industry education.
